Hello, I’m Jackie! Welcome to my world of all things home. I am embarking on this blog adventure at the suggestion of my family, many friends, and the Lord, who has been nudging me for years to use the gifts and talents he gave me for more. I am a true Southern Belle, born and raised here in Georgia and currently live in Cumming, northeast of Atlanta. I have been married to the most wonderful man, who I met in college, for 35 years. We have two handsome grown sons. One recently married and the other in a serious relationship. So now I have two beautiful girls, too! Oh…and also my baby girl, Jessie, a three year old Blue Heeler, who keeps me going! Our crazy family is all here in the same town, which I love!
I grew up in a small town here in Georgia with the best older sister and the most wonderful parents a girl could have. Blessed beyond measure! I am a University of Georgia graduate, Go Dawgs!, with a Criminal Justice degree. What!? And you a writing a home decor blog? Ok, I am a “Jack(ie)” of a lot of trades! I also have a paralegal degree, which was my “professional job” for many years. But I have always had a heart for all thing home related. Living in a small town, there’s not a lot to do, so I drew house plans!?! Weird, I know! I’ve always had a love of drawing and painting and chose that as a side career when my kids were young. I was a muralist and faux finisher for several years. I then got my Home Staging Certification and worked in that arena for a while and even owned my own “trash to treasure” business, as well. (My husband is such a patient man!) So that pretty much brings me to today. I have obviously been searching for years for “What I wanted to do when I grow up”! Hopefully I have found it here. My goal with this blog is to help others create beautiful and comfortable surroundings that they are proud to call “Home.” It’s not always the latest and greatest trends, or the most expensive items that work…it’s often the time worn, found, and inherited treasures that work best! Hopefully my years of experience will give you a fresh perspective. And…if I can do it…you can too! Along with that, I hope to inspire you in knowing that you are special and a gift from God to all those around you! God Bless!
Jackie
